Ever wondered where you stand out or fall behind. Are you average, beyond average or below. In Germany you might be surprised to hear the averages across the board. So many people wish for a million euros, a boyfriend who is 6 feet tall and makes tons of money but the thing is, these are rare.

Only 2.3% of households in Germany have a net worth of a million euros or more. Which is surprising considering people in France and the U.K. make on average quite a bit less but 6% of their population have over 1 million euros.

Quick note on average vs median. Median is the number in the middle. It is less sensitive to outliers and extreme values and so makes for a better example for finding the average in these situations. For example, when it comes to net worth, the average can be skewed by the fact that someone can be a billionaire. Rising the level to extreme values that are not a good guide for the group.

Let’s dive in, who is the average man and woman in Germany.

You can compare the German median to that of the other countries we have done. Although income is lower on average in Germany than the U.S. there net worth is quite a bit higher. Especially for woman.

Out of all of these we have done so far American men live the shortest but German is the second shortest compared to U.K. and France.

German men and women make more than other European countries we have highlighted and also have the highest net worth.

Still though there Co2 per capita is nearly twice that of the U.K. and France at 8 tonnes but nearly half that of the U.S. Clearly people in Germany are consuming at a higher average than other European countries. Still a long way below that of the U.S. consumption.
